Never Enough Time

Do you have enough time during the day to get everything accomplished that you set out to accomplish? Or, do you find yourself at 11:00 at night, just when you should be winding down getting ready for bed, doing last minute things you promised yourself you’d get done. I don’t know about you, but I just can’t seem to get everything done that I want to each day. There is always one more task (or 100 more tasks depending on how you see it.)
I have to ask myself, is this because I’m scared of being bored that I make myself such an impossible task, or is this really society? Is this what we’ve done to ourselves? There are so many things out there to distract us now, that I find myself starting one task, getting into the middle of it, suddenly thinking of another, then racing to it, leaving the first task undone.
Oh, and here’s my newest one…I race to keep my email inbox cleaned out, otherwise I find myself with more than 500+ emails in there. And, of course, they are all important (aren’t they?). I literally race to the computer when I hear the little ringy “announcement” tone. I’ll hear it from the kitchen and come running. What is wrong with me? I used to just leave it alone, and when I had time, check them. It would get away from me, and I’d find a very old email in there from a friend, that I totally missed responding to. So now…the race is on! Run, run, run, check the email…don’t let it get too full.
Sometimes I think I just get bored too easy. Staying on task for any length of time is boring. If I’m right, and there are a lot of us out there, we’re all in “a whole heap of trouble”. (a cliché? From me? Yep!)
Good luck and a very productive day to you!
